Who we are
MVCPRA stands for the Mountain View Coalition for Police Reform & Accountability. We are a group of Mountain View community members who care about the public safety and well-being of our community; we want to ensure that the Mountain View Police Department is operating in a way that optimally serves all Mountain View residents.
What we've accomplished
Since we formed in summer of 2020, we have:
Successfully advocated for the formation of the Public Safety Advisory Board (PSAB)
Organized a community protest against police brutality that targeted one of our community members
Provided significant and vocal input into the rewriting of the Student Resource Officer handbook
Held continuous meetings with city council and PSAB members to keep issues of equity and accountability in policing at the forefront of city policy
